The Cellular Therapy RN Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the management of cellular therapy patient care and monitoring in collaboration with the Clinical Program Manager, physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospitals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Coordinate treatment starts with applicable teams, physicians, and patients to arrange bispecific scheduling for outpatient or inpatient monitoring.
  • Provide telephone monitoring to patients at specific intervals per protocol, including daytime and evening call.
  • Perform patient outreach via telephone using record review, verbal cues, vitals, ICE questionnaire, patient condition, and medical history.
  • Determine patient’s needs and assess urgency of need at each call time based on verbal telephone assessment, record review, vitals, and ICE questionnaire. Provide appropriate advice within the nursing scope of practice.
  • If assessment reveals concerns, contact the appropriate provider to discuss the next steps and follow orders as directed. Provide increased monitoring calls as ordered and provide continuous follow-up calls with patients as needed.
  • In the event the patient needs to be seen, after hours in clinic under physician guidance, activate the bispecific protocol to meet the patient at the specified location for assessment and treatment in the designated infusion center. Administer IVF, medications, or antidote per physician orders and provide continuous in-person monitoring and document all vitals and orders being carried out in EMR.
  • Ensure accurate notes of all calls and confirm they are documented into the applicable email thread and EMR.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and professional role model for other nursing staff.
  • Provide patient education regarding the oncology disease processes, discuss side effects of bispecific treatments, and healthful behaviors as needed.
  • Always prioritize patient safety.
  • Communicate appropriately and tactfully with staff, consultants, patients, family members, and other collaborators.
  • Participate in staff in-service and other meetings as needed.
  • Provide guidance to physician teams and staff starting new patients as needed.
  • Maintain REMs for applicable medications and ensure providers are REMS certified for applicable medications.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

**To ensure the safety of NWMS’ vulnerable patient populations, we require post-offer proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot and COVID-19. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.

Pay: $47.26 - $66.35 per hour
