Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College is accepting applications for the following positions:
Full time Financial Aid Officer at the NLTCC- Shreveport Campus
Examples of Work
Responsible for maintaining compliance with NLTCC/ LCTC policies and procedures and all Federal and State guidelines applicable to student financial aid. And assist in promoting the vision and mission of NLTCC.
· Analyzes and evaluates financial viability of students and families and provides advice and counsel regarding available financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements, and the application process.
· Reviews and assesses eligibility of applications for financial aid; exercises professional judgment to determine whether adjustments should be made.
· Serves as Veteran Administration’s School Certifying Official
· Processes financial aid from all sources, ensuring all federal and state regulations for processing and awarding of funds are adhered to:
o Determine student eligibility for financial assistance.
o Conducts the verification process as defined by the Department of Education, including
o helping students and parents resolve outstanding issues and obtaining required
o information and documentation.
o Evaluate and process Institutional Student Information Record
o Verify accuracy on the Institutional Student Information Record
o Determine eligibility for types and amounts of financial aid
o Financial Aid Appeals
o Utilize the Banner System Processes for tracking, budgeting, packaging and awarding
o Attendance Verification
o Pell Recalculations
o Post Withdrawals
o Calculate Return of Title IV funds
· Notify students of aid eligibility -- Banner Self Service is utilized
· Coordinates financial aid payments with other agencies (i.e., Vocational Rehabilitation, VA, WIOA, etc)
· Assist Director of Financial Aid, NLTCC, and LCTC with reporting to various agencies, as required
Qualifications and Experience to apply:
· Bachelor’s degree.
· Four years related work experience is required.
· Previous financial aid work experience is a plus.
· Ability to work collaboratively, harmoniously, and cooperatively with colleagues, faculty and staff
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to verify and assess student eligibility for financial aid.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Interviewing skills.
Additional Requirements:
A valid Louisiana Driver’s License
Proof of motor vehicle insurance
In accordance with NLTCC Policy #6.003, a criminal history check will be conducted on all new hires. NLTCC participates in the federal E-Verify system for identification and employment eligibility purposes.
