What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aide position at Northwest Local School District?
SUPERVISOR: BUILDING PRINCIPAL
Provide a safe environment while overseeing, managing, and reporting disicpline concerns during 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade recess. 2 hour position - Time to be determined. (Typically from 11:30-1:30.)
LOCATION: ASSIGNED BY SUPERINTENDENT OR DESIGNEE
JOB OBJECTIVE
- Assume the responsibility for supervising and assisting students
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Be able-bodied, of good moral character, and adaptable to working around students who may have learning disabilities or physical handicaps, or both
- Student Pupil Permit
- BCI/FBI Background Check
JOB LOCATION
- High School, Middle School, and Elementary schools as assigned by the Superintendent
EQUIPMENT UTILIZED
- Be able to learn the use and care of special devices for handicapped as required on a case by case basis
JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential
- Assist and supervise the students in their movement from activity to activity
- Assist the students with their restroom needs
- Assist with the implementation of their physical education program
- Supervise and assist with learning activities
- Assist with fine and gross-motor activities
- Provide individual attention when needed
- Assist with the modification of teaching equipment and materials when needed
- Attend, assist and supervise students on field trips
- Assist students as necessary and appropriate in emergency situations
- Such other duties as may be assigned by the building principal
