Primary Purpose:

Responsible for maintaining all keys, files, and records for doors, locks, and associated hardware and to insure safety and security of all district buildings.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Texas driver’s license (Meet eligibility requirements to drive a district vehicle.
• Demonstrated mechanical skills
• Ability to maintain accurate records, databases, and/or files
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to use various hand and power tools
• Minimum of five years experience as a locksmith

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

• Demonstrate acceptable work habits including teamwork, initiative and dependability.
• Report to work on time each day.
• Administer a key-control system for all school buildings.
• Maintain accurate record of key distribution and locks.
• Change and rekey locks.
• Cut keys by machine and by hand.
• Make impressions of keys and pick locks.
• Unlock and make replacement keys for all district-owned vehicles.
• Install, repair, replace or adjust all types of locks, door closures, panic devices, and door hardware.
• Respond to all lock-related emergency calls.
• Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis.
