What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Instructor – Computer Science – NCC’s Sioux Center Regional Center and/or Sheldon Campus position at Northwest Iowa Community College?
DIVISION: Arts, Science, Business and Transitions
SUPERVISOR: Associate Dean-Arts, Sciences, Business and Transitions
BASIC FUNCTION: Adjunct teach on-campus courses at NCC’s Sioux Center Regional Center and/or Sheldon Campus for Fall 2026.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required – Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or qualifying Computer/Technology Related Discipline or Master’s degree with 12 graduate credits in a qualifying graduate field
Preferred – Previous collegiate level instructional experience.
Ability to provide effective instruction within the discipline of Computer Science.
Bilingual in the English and Spanish languages.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct effective instruction in all assigned areas, using approved course outlines.
2. Develop and maintain current course syllabi/outlines for assigned courses.
3. Prepares lesson plans and creates instructional materials and activities, as needed.
4. Notify the Associate Dean, CAO, or designee as early as possible of inability to meet a class.
5. Measure and evaluate student progress and maintain accurate grade computations. Submit grade reports to Student Services according to designated timelines.
6. Counsel, advise, and/or refer students as appropriate.
7. Enforce all Northwest Iowa Community College student policies.
8. Provide students written course expectations, including course objectives, attendance policy, methods of evaluation, and grading practices.
Wage/Salary Range: Salary dependent upon experience and education.
