PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Maintain and repair all types of district irrigation and related equipment to minimize interruption of the education process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification
High School Diploma or GED
Driving record that meets the requirements of the district's insurance carrier
Higher Levels of License & Certifications will be given consideration
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read blueprints
Ability to operate excavators, backhoe, UTV, skid-steer, and ditch trencher
Preferred Experience:
Five years commercial experience in irrigation/plumbing including repair, service, and installation
BPAT License
Knowledge of Hunter ACC2 Clocks and Accessories, Hunter Centralus Software
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Demonstrate acceptable work habits including teamwork, initiative, and dependability
- Report to work on time each day
- Troubleshoot and repair 2-Wire and multi-wire irrigation systems
- Repair and replace sprinkler heads
- Repair and replace valves
- Repair, replace, and install lateral lines and mains
- Maintain, repair, program, and replace time clocks
- Installation of new irrigation system components as directed
- Soil moisture testing
- Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis
- Respond to NISD Emergency Calls during after hours, nights, and weekends as needed
- Report to work during inclement weather unless otherwise directed
MINOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintain and repair sewage and sump pumps
- Maintain and repair gas lines in safe condition
- Maintain and repair drinking fountain fixtures
- Maintain and repair hot water circulating pumps and hot water heaters
- Maintain and repair all kitchen & restroom-related plumbing
