Primary Purpose:
Perform the maintenance and preventative maintenance of all electronic “low voltage” equipment, fire
alarms, sprinkler system alarms, intrusion alarms, sound systems, public address, bell/clock systems, and
all components of these systems in the District, in order to minimize interruption of the education process
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Driving record that meets the requirements of the district's insurance carrier
High School Diploma or GED
State of Texas Fire Alarm License
Preferred Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years previous experience installing and maintaining commercial fire alarms, fire sprinkler systems, intrusion alarms, and/or sound/PA systems.
Major Responsibilities & Duties:
- Demonstrate acceptable work habits including regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability and promptness.
- Install, maintain, and inspect all electronic Fire Alarm Systems.
- Install and repair of electronic components.
- Install or replace power supply units.
- Install or repair of intrusion alarms.
- Install or repair of sound systems/public address and bell/clock systems.
- Pulling wire and cable to support all of these systems.
- Support the Electrical Department in all areas as needed.
- Provide support in areas of Maintenance/Technology joint responsibility.
- Respond to “after hours/weekends” alarms on an as needed basis.
- Basic knowledge of computer operations as related to systems programming.
- Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis.
