The Director of Events, Communications, & Professional Development supports NWIAR’s goals, values and philosophy by exhibiting the following behaviors: leadership, quality service, commitment, and accountability. Position Summary:

The Director of Events, Communications, & Professional Development performs high level duties in the areas of communications, event planning, and education that support the organization and its members.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Staff liaison to four NWIAR committees: Cares, Education, Your Professionals Network Council (YPN), and REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC).

· Plan and execute association events by coordinating venues, caterers, entertainment, speakers, registration, and sponsorships.

· Create content for various mediums that includes, but is not limited to, the NWIAR Newsletter, membership email communications, membership promotional materials and all other printed or electronic materials.

· Create and oversee regular communications with members for timing, accuracy and quality assuring consistency of information and branding.

· Create and manage website and social media content. Provide a strong presence, keeping information accurate, current, properly branded and consistent with messaging approved by the CEO.

· Coordinate media requests or news stories with an outside public relations firm.

· Coordinate required Continuing Education (CE) classes as well as learning opportunities members will find of value.

· Create promotional materials and provide marketing and editorial support to the education committee to assure communication about educational opportunities are consistent.

· Coordinate advocacy communications with Government Affairs Director (GAD).

· Act as an ambassador of the association at all events, meetings, interactions with members and the public.

· Work with other staff members to support NWIAR members with all of their concerns.

· Able to react to change productively and handle all other duties/essential tasks as assigned.

· Focus breakdown is about: Event Planning 40%, Communications 40%, Professional Development 20%.

Qualifications:

Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies internally with members and externally with the media. Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills. A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently. Social media fluency. Experience with branding and communications campaigns.

A relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to "manage by influence". Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, program participants and other supporters. Self-starter, able to work independently and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree. At least 3 years of experience in events for an association, organization, or corporation and/or communication services preferred.

Other Skills:

A leader with strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals; problem-solving skills; good judgment; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; with working knowledge of Canva, Social Media Platforms, Email Platforms; highly developed organizational, planning, and oral and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with others.

Work Environment:

The position is in-person in an office setting. Reports directly to the CEO. Must be able to work about one association event during the evening every month. Overnight travel 2% or less.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
