NFCH is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join the accounting team. This role is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the hospital’s financial operations in compliance with healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute monthly close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and related financial analysis.
- Identify, propose, and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
- Lead the calculation and accounting for key management estimates, including supporting analytics, monthly reconciliations, and external audit deliverables.
- Ensure transactions are recorded and reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Support the external audit process by responding to inquiries and providing timely, accurate supporting documentation.
- Prepare variance analyses and recurring financial reporting.
- Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to support requests for information, explain accounting activity, and resolve issues and discrepancies.
- Work closely with the CFO and other leaders to develop and deliver ad hoc projects, reports, and presentations.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to work independently.
- Take ownership of deliverables and communicate results and recommendations effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Audit experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
