Medical Assistant or LPN – Full Time

Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing medical clinic team. This position plays an important role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting providers in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Experience:

Strong communication skills verbal and written. Knowledge of outpatient hospital services. Ability to work closely with physicians.

Two to three years of experience in medical field.

Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care as defined by job responsibilities and performance standards in this job description to include Patient Safety Performance Standards for the identified population served below:

  • Pre-term/High Risk Neonate
  • Neonate (newborn to 28 days)
  • Pediatric (One month to 12 years)
  • Young Adult (18 to 35 years)
  • Adult (35 to 65 years)
  • Geriatric (65 years and over)

Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication lists
  • Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures
  • Administer injections, medications, and treatments within scope of practice
  • Perform clinical documentation accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and patient follow-up care
  • Answer patient questions and provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection control standards
  • Support clinic workflow and assist with daily operations as needed

Qualifications:

Medical Assistant:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Previous clinic or physician office experience preferred

LPN:

  • Current Florida LPN license required
  • Previous clinic or physician office experience preferred
