The Plastic Surgery Nurse plays a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing plastic and reconstructive surgeries. This position requires a compassionate and skilled nursing professional who can assist in both pre-operative and post-operative settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various medical disciplines, ensuring comprehensive patient care throughout their surgical journey.
Required Duties:
- Check-In Patients (PreOp), Circulate and Recover Patients (PACU)
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status before, during, and after surgery.
- Provide education to patients regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care.
- Administer medications as prescribed and manage pain control protocols.
- Adhere to medical record documentation. Review Charts and documentation.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn OR procedures, sterile technique, and universal precautions.
- Assure the surgical procedures /preference cards are current and followed.
- Prepares specimen for sending to pathology.
- Assists in room turnover and set up in a timely manner.
- Prepares and knows the specific uses of all needed equipment and supplies, including solutions and drugs.
- Adhere to medical record documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Washington State RN License - Required
- BLS , ACLS and PALS- Upon Hire
- Open to new grads!
