Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Eugene, OR, for a Civil Engineer (EIT). The role involves working under the supervision of a PE performing foundation repair projects for both commercial and residential clients, as well as for new construction. It includes participating in geotechnical evaluations and preparing construction documents and evaluation reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Experience in Structural, Foundation, and Forensic analysis is a plus
- Experience working with structural software tools is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn
- Being detail-oriented
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Microsoft Office skills
- Sound technical drawing skills, preferably in AutoCAD
- Ability to travel, including overnight stays up to 10% of the time
- Physical ability to inspect crawlspaces and walk on sloped ground
Job Responsibilities
- Analysis and design of deep foundations for residential and commercial structures, creating (or assisting others to create) documentation that includes letters, drawings, calculations, and specifications, utilizing concrete, steel, and wood design skills, for both new and existing buildings, under the supervision of a PE.
- Analysis of soil data from field investigations
- Mastering the use of geotechnical equipment
- Furnish structural inspection reports based on visual inspections of buildings
- Interacts with the client and project team in developing the scope of services and communicating project progress
- Incorporate, throughout time, PE skills and attributions
