Reading and Spelling Tutor for clients with dyslexia
Part-Time Position--Afternoons
We are currently looking for a tutor who either already have experience with the Barton Reading & Spelling program or who is willing to learn train utilizing this program. Training will be partially with a trainer and partially on your own. A stipend will be offered during the training process.
Applicants must:
- have a heart for students,
- love working with children and adults with learning disabilities,
- be able to multi-task,
- be a team-player,
- have good auditory discrimination,
- be able to follow the program with fidelity,
- be able to commit to specific hours,
- have some understanding of technology (esp. Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, Zoom),
- be able to talk to parents about their child's progress.
- be willing to commit to 5 years
We are looking for people who are available to work from 2-6pm, Monday and Wednesday (and 9-11 on occasional Fridays). After training is complete, hours will begin slowly and work up to 8-10 hours weekly.
