Role Description The Automation Technician is a full-time, hybrid role based in Edmond, OK, with some flexibility for work-from-home tasks such as documentation and remote system monitoring. In this role, the technician installs, configures, and maintains automation and control systems for commercial and industrial HVAC and related processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing system startups, calibrating sensors and controllers, testing field devices, and verifying communication between equipment and building automation platforms. The technician diagnoses and resolves equipment and system faults, executes preventive maintenance routines, and documents service activities, parts usage, and system changes. This position also involves collaborating with engineers, project managers, and customers, following safety and quality standards, and supporting upgrades or expansions to existing automation solutions.
Qualifications
- Candidates should have experience on a Niagara Platform (N4 preferred)
- Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills to diagnose, isolate, and resolve issues in automation and HVAC control systems.
- Candidates should possess hands-on Automation and Robotics skills for working with building automation controllers, PLCs, and automated equipment.
- Candidates should possess practical Electricity skills, including reading electrical diagrams, working with low-voltage control circuits, and safely using electrical test instruments.
- Candidates should possess Preventive Maintenance skills for scheduling, inspecting, and servicing automation, HVAC, and related equipment to minimize downtime.
- Relevant technical experience in building automation, industrial controls, or HVAC systems, preferably in commercial or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal project teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and service calls.
