Job Summary:
The Alumni, Parent & Community relations position is highly relational and builds, cultivates and stewards meaningful relationships with alumni, parents, grandparents and the broader community to deepen engagement and strengthen support for the School. This role also provides essential support for school events, helping plan, coordinate, and execute activities that foster connection within the NWCS community.
Job Description:
Relationships - Community
- Build, nurture, and steward strong relationships with alumni, parents, grandparents, and community partners to support long-term engagement with NWCS.
- Support donor stewardship efforts by helping prepare thank-you notes, event follow-up communication or recognition activities.
- Identify individuals within the NWCS and greater Spokane communities who are interested in supporting and partnering with the School through financial contributions, promotional efforts or service opportunities.
- Develop and coordinate communications related to alumni engagement, school events, and community initiatives, ensuring timely, accurate, and mission-aligned messaging across multiple platforms.
Relationships - Alumni
- Collect, track, and update alumni and community contact information within school databases to ensure accurate records.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase alumni participation in events, volunteer opportunities, and giving initiatives.
- Strengthen ties with alumni through on campus events including Alumni athletic events, Homecoming, reunions, Impact and other school events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni inquiries, class connections and engagement opportunities.
- Supervise class reunions held on site and provide tours of campuses when requested by a reunion class.
- Invite senior alumni to participate as Golden Crusaders during graduation ceremonies and coordinate related meet-and-greet opportunities to cultivate School connection.
- Welcome graduating seniors into the NWCS alumni community by facilitating connection opportunities, sharing alumni resources, and fostering a sense of lifelong belonging.
Events
- Assist the Event Coordinators in the planning and execution of the annual fundraising and school events.
- Identify potential organizational partners for event sponsorship.
- Support Event Coordinators in recruiting and managing event volunteers.
- Assist with setting up, managing, and monitoring online ticket sales for school events.
- Assist with the setup and management of the online auction website, ensuring accurate item listings, smooth functionality, and a positive user experience.
- Support post-event wrap-up by reconciling auction sales and donations, coordinating with the Business Office as needed to ensure accurate accounting and donor records.
Schedule and Benefits
- Compensation: $18-23/hour, dependent on experience.
- Schedule: 25 hours/week, August through mid-June. Seasonal events and special projects may require additional hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project-management skills and able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, families, and community members.
- Team player with an outgoing and friendly demeanor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; experience with CRM or donor management systems (such as RenWeb, Greater Giving, or Raiser’s Edge) is preferred.
- Commitment to modeling Christ-like character and active member of a local, Bible-believing church.
- Ability to lift, carry and move items up to 50 pounds as needed for event setup and teardown.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends based on event schedules or alumni/community activities.
