Position: Human Resources Generalist

A day in the life... Autonomy, flexibility, integrity, and collaboration are the names of the game! As a key member of NWC’s @Amazon HR team, and helping to support NWC’s Mission across the NWC@Amazon Division. You will provide HR support including employee relations support, recruiting, ADA accommodations facilitation, and much more throughout the greater Seattle and Arlington, VA areas- you will report in directly to the Human Resources Manager, and work collaboratively with the NWC@Amazon and greater NWC HR teams, the NWC@Amazon leadership teams, and entire NWC@Amazon employee base. Helping to drive our mission of equity and inclusion throughout our team, by making meaningful connections, listening, and guiding employees to resolutions in their workplace.

While the role will most likely be heavy in employee interactions, the ability to be content in pulling reports, maximizing processes, working on short term projects, etc. are equally as important.

Qualifications:

Education

• High school Diploma or GED (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years (4) of HR experience (preferred)
• HR certification (preferred); i.e. SHRM-CP, PHR

Experience

• 2 years of HR experience (required) i.e. Employee Relations, Recruiting, Benefits, L&D
• Previous experience with recruiting and Employee Relations (required)

Demonstrable Skills

• Ability to handle confidential materials and information
• Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
• Practices active listening
• Excellent documentation and/or note taking skills
• Strong Organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Must be able to transport a backpack (or similar luggage) containing a laptop and other supplies, up to 30 pounds.
• May need to carry supplies to other buildings.
• It is a combination of desk and actively visiting several Amazon buildings so the ability to physically move spaces consistently within a 1.5 radius is required
• Ability to travel to locations throughout the greater Seattle region.
• Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language
• Ability to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
• Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
• Ability to travel up to the VA campus on occasion
• This is a dog friendly environment with over 1000 dogs on campus. Individuals with dog allergies or those who do not particularly care for dogs may not be the best fit.
