What are the responsibilities and job description for the MC / DJ Assistant position at Northwest Audio Event DJs?
MC (Master of Ceremonies)
Duties:
DJ & MC
- Create and maintain a lively and energetic atmosphere by playing music for various events and occasions.
- Mix and blend music tracks seamlessly to ensure a smooth transition between songs.
- Read the crowd and adjust the music selection to cater to different tastes and preferences.
- Interact with guests and take song requests to enhance their experience.
- Set up and operate DJ equipment, including turntables, mixers, speakers, and microphones.
- Coordinate with event organizers to understand specific music requirements and timelines.
- Ensure the proper functioning of equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during an event.
- Commanding vocal presence
- Comfortable communicating with hundreds of people center stage
- Social and Business Etiquette, we aim to provide a very engaging and entertaining experience without being cheesy.
- Vehicle large enough to transport gear from our HQ
- Ability to carry up to 50lbs up stairs
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of different music genres, including dance, pop, hip-hop, rock, etc.
- Experience as a DJ or in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read the crowd and adapt the music selection accordingly.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and take song requests.
- Basic knowledge of DJ equipment setup and operation.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on your feet and occasional heavy lifting of equipment.
