Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable X-Ray Technologist to join our primary care team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient care, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations in accordance with established protocols, physician orders, and radiation safety standards.
- Properly position patients and operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and ensure their comfort, safety, and privacy throughout the examination.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of imaging procedures.
- Obtain radiology reports from the radiologist/radiology company, scan and file reports into the appropriate patient chart for physician review.
- Monitor incoming faxes and other communications for radiology reports and ensure reports are accurately filed in the patient's chart for provider review.
- Contact radiologists and/or radiology companies to obtain missing reports or request corrected reports when necessary.
- Communicate with physicians and clinical staff regarding imaging results, outstanding reports, and additional imaging needs.
- Contact patients to schedule or arrange return visits for any additional imaging requested by the physician.
- Follow up on outstanding imaging reports and requests to help ensure timely completion.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report equipment concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging area.
- Follow all applicable radiation safety practices, HIPAA requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other members of the clinical team.
- Assist with other clinical or administrative duties as needed in a small primary care practice.
Qualifications
- ARRT certification or eligibility required.
- Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Arizona
- Graduate from an Accredited School in Applied Sciences Radiography
- Current CPR/BLS certification required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable communicating with radiologists, radiology companies, physicians, staff, and patients.
- Ability to work in fast-paced situations with a professional demeanor.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a certified Radiologic Technologist preferred – but not required
- Current and valid driver's license
