Job Description
Assists in providing planned activities and interventions for the development, maintenance, and expression of appropriate social and leisure lifestyles of patients admitted to the Unit.
Job Responsibility
- Performs initial assessments and leisure history interviews of patients admitted to the Unit; assesses patients leisure, social and recreational abilities, deficiencies, interests, barriers, life experiences, needs, and potential.
- Assists in the implementation and coordination of individualized/group recreation therapy programs.
- Participates in the planning and provision of individual/group treatment services to improve social, emotional, cognitive and physical functional behaviors.
- Assists in the provision of leisure educational activities.
- Assists the patient in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for independent leisure and social activities; adjustment in community; decision- making ability, and appropriate use of free time.
- Assists in maintaining supplies for the department.
- Prepares and operates equipment for various events and ensures that adequate supplies and equipment are available as needed.
- Participates in maintaining an organized system of record keeping and statistics which comply with all regulatory and facility standards of practice.
- Provides documentation of all events that occur during the regimen.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
