Job Description

Under the mentorship of an advanced clinical provider leader, participates in the advanced training and outcome evaluation of an assigned advanced clinical provider area including the performance of technical procedures for the admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of assigned patients. Participates in performance improvement and research projects, as well as weekly seminars and other related educational activities.

Job Responsibility

 

  • Under the mentorship of an advanced clinical provider leader, participates in advanced training and outcome evaluation of assigned patients.
  • Takes patient histories and performs physical examinations.
  • Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care to the patient.
  • Writes orders for medication, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests, as needed.
  • Interprets laboratory and test results.
  • Performs procedures and follow-up with patients as needed.
  • Confers with multidisciplinary team including attending physician, nursing and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
  • Completes patient dispositions, including but not limited to, discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals.
  • Educates patients regarding necessary post-discharge care.

Job Qualification

 

  • Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program and National Board Certification in specialty area required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Current License to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State, and Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree, required and Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education in New York State, and Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • OR Master’s Degree in clinical nursing practice required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and CNS certification in applicable specialty practice areas: Adult Health, Oncology, Pediatrics and Psychiatry/Mental Health by a national certification organization (ANCC, AACN or ONCC) in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

Salary : $79,880 - $136,340
