What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home-Bound/Home-Based Teacher (K-12) position at Northumberland County Schools District Wide?
POSITION TITLE: Home-Bound/Home-Based Teacher (K-12)
QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a current Virginia Department of Education Teacher Certification & be a current employee of Northumberland County Public Schools.
REPORTS TO: Principal / School Case Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain close contact with the student's teachers, counselor, or the program coordinator to receive and implement appropriate educational programs
- Use assignments and materials provided by the classroom teacher or supervisor of instruction
- Maintain an accurate record of the hours of instruction provided for each assigned student and file such information with the designated school division representative
- Submit the student's completed work to the designated school representative prior to the end of the grading period and maintain written documentation of work completed with the homebound records, or in cases where online instruction is used, provide a written record
- Document any instructional time that is interrupted because of the child not being available for the instruction period
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
