What are the responsibilities and job description for the Body Shop Technician - Experienced position at Northtown Automotive Companies?
Northtown Collision is looking to add on to our team of technicians.
We are looking for a skilled Collision technician who is either a level A or level B in the trade.
Wage/Rate:
Level A Tech: $22-$24 flat rate hourly - would equate to roughly $110k-$125k / year
Level B Tech: $18-$20 flat rate hourly - would equate to roughly $75-$90k / year
Schedule:
Full-time, 3 day rotating schedule : 7:30AM - 9:00PM (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday for one month and then Thursday/Friday/Saturday for the next month)
Essential Duties:
- Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
- Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
- Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
- Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
- Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
- Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
- Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
- Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- This is a physically demanding position. The technician will stand ten to twelve hours per shift, lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds several times during each shift, and use hoist and test equipment as needed. S/he will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach. S/he will use hand and power tools. S/he will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- This position requires extensive, previous experience, as an Auto Body Technician, in the capacity of a Level A or B tech.
- Valid in-state driver's license
Salary : $75,000 - $125,000
