About the Role:
A healthcare-tech company in New York City, operating across 5 locations and incubating multiple in-house technology projects, is hiring its Chief Technology Officer (Technical Lead). The CEO previously led the largest independent healthcare organization in the Northeast.
The Opportunity:
This is a CTO position. You'll own the entire engineering function end-to-end, report directly to the CEO, and lead engineering with full autonomy.
What You'll Own
- Building and leading the engineering team from zero
- Architecture for healthcare-grade systems, including HIPAA compliance, patient data security, and infrastructure that scales across locations
- Engineering processes, code quality standards, and delivery cadence
Who You Are
- At least 3 to 5 years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping real systems
- You're the engineer that people on your team go to when something is hard or broken
- Hungry to hustle and take ownership of a full engineering function earlier than most people get the chance
- Comfortable writing code every day
Nice to Have
- Prior experience at a startup that scaled meaningfully or had a successful exit
- Background with multi-site or multi-location operational software
- Experience with compliance-heavy systems (HIPAA, SOC 2)
- Previous senior software engineer or tech lead experience
