Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation and personal hygiene.
- Provide medication administration as required, ensuring adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Support individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals through tailored care plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment within the group home setting.
- Document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Engage clients in recreational activities that promote socialization and community involvement.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Respond to emergencies with appropriate first aid measures when necessary.
Skills
- Experience in caregiving or home health settings is preferred, particularly with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality and privacy.
- Proficiency in meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met for clients.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to perform first aid and respond calmly in crisis situations.
- A genuine passion for providing care and support to individuals in need, particularly seniors or those with disabilities.
