Cemetery Caretaker Foreman

Eternal Light Memorial Gardens is hiring a Cemetery Caretaker Foreman / Landscaping Foreman to lead grounds maintenance and landscaping operations in Boynton Beach FL.

This role is ideal for an experienced grounds maintenance supervisor or landscaping crew leader with expertise in heavy equipment operation, lawn care, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities (Grounds Maintenance & Crew Leadership):

• Supervise and manage a 15 person landscaping/grounds maintenance crew

• Lead daily landscaping, lawn care, and cemetery maintenance operations

• Perform and oversee:

• Grass cutting, edging, trimming, and sod installation

• Tree and shrub maintenance

• Walkways, burial plots, and memorial site upkeep

• Prepare burial sites for interments and ensure on-time service execution

• Coordinate cemetery operations, memorial installations, and site preparation

• Operate and train team members on landscaping equipment and heavy machinery

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA practices, and equipment protocols

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience as a Landscaping Foreman, Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, or Crew Leader

• Proven ability to manage large teams (15 employees) in outdoor environments

• Hands-on experience using landscaping tools and equipment, including:

• Ride-on / zero-turn mowers

• Chainsaws

• Stick edgers and weed eaters

• Pole saws and trimming equipment

• Experience operating heavy equipment, including:

• Backhoes

• Tractors

• UTVs / utility vehicles

• Strong knowledge of groundskeeping, landscape maintenance, and turf management

• Ability to read maps, site layouts, and burial plot diagrams

• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills

• Valid driver’s license required

Physical Requirements (Outdoor Labor / Equipment Operation):

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs

• Ability to push/pull equipment up to 20 feet (mausoleum lift)

• Capable of performing physical outdoor work in all weather conditions

• Comfortable working around machinery and at heights

• Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends or service-related schedules
