Job Summary
In this role, you are responsible for coordinating companywide training and development efforts. Working with members of our team, you will plan, organize, and facilitate training programs to enhance skills and performance for employees of all levels.
The Training and Development Coordinator ensures all training initiatives align with organizational goals as well as industry standards. You would also manage our company-wide document library maintaining records from across all areas of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and administer training plans for employees including new hire training as well as continuous training for compliance and growth-based learning.
• Serve as the company expert for our learning management system (LMS).
• Track and report on all learning within the company including required and self-paced training ensuring deadlines are met wherever applicable.
• Procure, design and implement training content and curriculums for all levels of employee from a vast training and development content library.
• Ensure compliance standards are maintained including but not limited to DOT, OSHA, Cyber Security and internal Ethics training.
• Support new hire orientation immediately after onboarding working with managers on maximizing the learning and development experience.
• Maintain Records including tracking training completion hours and rates, and certification status in the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Help assess and develop high potential employees for opportunities within the company for future growth.
Qualifications and skills
• Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Type 3 Drivers License.
• A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience in human resources and/or training and development is strongly preferred.
• Professional certifications in training and development (e.g. Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, Certified Training Professional) are strongly encouraged.
• Professional knowledge of instructional design principles including adult learning theory and varying training methods and techniques is required.
• Proficiency in administration of e-learning platforms for assignment and monitoring of existing and new trainings including a strong understanding of data reports and analytics.
• Strong organizational and project-oriented abilities are needed using analytics and data to measure training metrics.
• The ability to adapt to a fast paced and evolving work environment and build relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong project coordination skills and the ability to coordinate multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire participants from varying organizational backgrounds.
• A professional understanding of learning management systems (LMS) utilization.
• Excellent computer software and systems knowledge including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and OneNote is required.
• A general aptitude for learning new technologies and keeping up with industry trends is essential.

This role requires an individual that can work with employees of varying skill and experience levels from all areas of our company. An ability to cater efforts to those of our team performing roles in Retail, Wholesale Petroleum Operations and varying administrative and professional positions is needed to capture the overall emphasis on companywide learning.
General Requirements
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Training and Development, Professional certifications in training and development (e.g. Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, Certified Training Professional) are strongly encouraged.
- Education or a related field is preferred, or equivalent education, experience, or training.
- A strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories is required with experience in developing and delivering varying training methods and techniques preferred.
