Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist at NorthStar Energy is responsible for accurately processing and recording invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining the integrity of the accounts payable function. This role plays a critical role in managing the company's financial obligations, optimizing cash flow, and building strong relationships with suppliers.
What you'll be responsible for
- Sort and distribute incoming mail via AP Shared Mailboxes
- Responsible for coding and posting of vendor invoices to ensure proper expense allocation and timely payment
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Match vendor invoices against purchase orders
- Reconcile any discrepancies with vendors and company personnel
- Ensure invoices are posted to the proper account with proper coding
- Communicate with vendors and associates to resolve payment and pricing discrepancies
- Enter vendor invoices through SoftCo or Sage
- Collecting all documents for vendor On-boarding setup or changes.
- Review and process credit card bills
- Maintain 1099 files and ensure filing compliance
- Respond to all vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements, and research and correct discrepancies
- Assist in month end closing the subledgers of NorthStar subsidiaries
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Maintain all leases and expiration dates
- Assist in reconciliation of intercompany accounts
- Support annual audit performed by independent external auditors
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High schooldiploma or GED
- 2 years office or accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
