What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freshwater Husbandry Expert position at Northstar Aquatics?
Northstar Aquatics, Inc. is a wholesale distributor of live aquarium fish located in Savage, MN. We are currently looking for a responsible individual for our freshwater husbandry.
We are looking for a detail oriented responsible individual to be responsible for the care and upkeep of livestock in our warehouse. Curiosity and a desire to learn are a must.
Well rounded knowledge of either freshwater OR marine aquarium livestock is preferred but not required for this position.
Job duties to include, but not limited to:
- This is a full time position but we are also looking for part time
- Day to day livestock husbandry
- Acclimating/Unpacking inbound shipments
- Packing/Shipping outbound orders
- Customer interaction with walk in clients
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs and tolerate standing/walking on concrete floors during the day
- Some ladder work
- Ability to work in a high heat and humid work environment
- Driving of company vehicle (minimal)
- Experience with both freshwater and marine livestock a bonus
- Other duties as assigned
Business hours 9AM - 5PM Mon - Fri
Short Weekend hours on a rotating basis and working after business hours may occur from time to time packing out and/or receiving orders.
