Job Summary
The Safety Compliance and Facilities Coordinator is responsible for leading Northside Elevator’s safety and regulatory compliance programs across all company locations. This role oversees OSHA compliance, employee safety training, incident investigations, and maintenance of the company Safety Manual.
In addition, this position manages building and grounds maintenance to ensure all facilities are safe, compliant, and well maintained. The role requires strong initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to promote a culture of safety and operational excellence. This role is accountable for compliance with all business policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace Safety & Compliance
· Develop, implement, and maintain the company safety program and policies.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA 1910 regulations and applicable state regulations.
· Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard assessments.
· Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
· Maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301) and regulatory documentation.
· Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) library.
· Track and report safety metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
· Develop and deliver employee safety training programs.
· Maintain training records and certifications.
· Conduct new hire safety orientation.
· Support compliance with EPA environmental regulations.
· Manage spill prevention plans, waste disposal programs, hazardous material storage, and pest control.
· Maintain emergency action plans (EAP).
· Coordinate fire, evacuation, and emergency response procedures.
· Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers, first aid kits, AEDs, and eyewash stations.
· Coordinate and lead safety meetings.
· Lead initiatives that strengthen the company’s safety culture.
Office & Grounds
· Oversee office maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance across locations.
· Coordinate contractors and vendors for services such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, waste disposal, and cleaning.
· Ensure facilities comply with applicable building codes and safety standards.
· Manage parking lots, snow removal, landscaping, and exterior lighting.
· Ensure safe traffic flow for employees, trucks, and equipment.
Job Qualifications
· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Technology, Agriculture, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
o Equivalent industry experience in animal feed, agriculture, or manufacturing environment may be considered in place of formal education.
· Certifications:
o Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
o PCQI certification; HACCP training is a plus.
· Experience:
o Experience in animal feed, agriculture, or manufacturing environment.
o Experience supporting safety programs, compliance initiatives, or operational risk management.
o Experience managing or coordinating projects, vendors, or facility maintenance is a plus.
