Assistant Teacher

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists in improving students’ skills in all academic areas as directed by the teacher.
   1. Promotes a positive image of the school district program to the public.
   2. Keeps records as directed by the teacher.
   3. Attends parent-teacher conferences as directed by the teacher.
   4. Exhibits high expectations for self and students.
   5. Demonstrates continued growth by participation in professional development activities.
   6. Adheres to all safety procedures, rules, and policies to ensure the well-being of all students.
   7. Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location and notifies principal or designee of impending absence in a timely manner.
   8. Maintains active supervision of students during all work and duty assignments.
   9. Maintains confidentiality of all student information.
   10. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the teacher and/or principal.
   11. Regular in person attendance.                                                                                                                                                           

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1.    Must have completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; or

  2.    Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or

  3.    Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment. WorkKeys Test – Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment. WorkKeys Test – Applied Mathematics score of 4, Graphic Literacy score of 4 and Workplace Documents subtests score of 4.
