What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drama Teacher position at Northside Elementary School of the Arts?
Minimum Qualifications:
SC certification in Theater or Speech and Drama required with a strong GPA in relevant course work
Expertise in speech fundamentals, acting, dramatic production, and history of the theater
Experience teaching drama at the elementary school level preferred
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of effective and innovative instructional and student evaluation techniques in Theater
Experience working with elementary school age students preferred
Skills in interpersonal relations with pupils, parents, teachers, staff and the general public
Experience with International Baccalaureate (IB) Theatre Arts preferred
Strong Technical Theatre background preferred
Ability to collaborate with teachers of other performing and visual arts within the school
Desire and ability to recruit students from the student body to be involved in theatre, including those not in
theatre classes
High energy and strong work ethic
Outstanding references from current/former supervisors
Satisfactory SLED (SC Law Enforcement Division) report
Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule
Length of Contract: 190 days
Starting Date: 2025-2026 School Year
