Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Program Operations Managers (POM) (Eng. Manager 2. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program to lead our Manufacturing team through the development & build of various elements and sub-elements of our Sentinel system for our Air Force customer.

What You’ll Get To Do:
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Program Operations Managers (POM) (Eng. Manager 2) to lead our Manufacturing team through the development & build of various elements and sub-elements of our Sentinel system for our Air Force customer. These positions require a comprehensive understanding of design and production, program management skills, proven strategic planning and business execution capabilities, as well as ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines. The position will be a key leadership role interfacing with Sentinel leadership staff in establishing & executing baseline program plans.
In addition, the candidate should be able to interact and influence higher level management and communicate effectively with both oral and written presentations. The POM will provide operational focus (cost, quality, and schedule) for the element level manufacturing effort. The POM is responsible for the overall operational performance for the lifecycle of the program starting with engineering & development, ensuring successful standup and production readiness either in house or with our supplier teammates, and positioning for future production needs. The Program Operations Manager will act as the first level manufacturing operations leader with accountability to the program and functional leadership team. The POM will have responsibility to ensure all operations aspects of the program from material procurement to finished product delivery are properly planned and executed in accordance with the Program Execution Plan. This includes establishing needs and driving delivery of Engineering products and support as required to support the program schedule.
The Manufacturing POM 2 positions have the following duties and responsibilities relative to the element team(s) they are aligned with:
- Work in partnership with the Functional Teams and Program Leadership to define and execute the Manufacturing statement of work in alignment with the customer SOWs
- Responsible for leading the manufacturing team consisting of the Manufacturing Engineering/Tooling, Industrial Engineering & Operations Project Management, Manufacturing Integration and Field Operations disciplines
- Key member of the Sentinel manufacturing leadership team to help create the alignment with the division manufacturing strategy
- Oversee all proposal efforts for the Manufacturing team
- Develop and execute baseline program plan for Manufacturing deliverables (e.g. Mfg planning CDRLs, Master Build/Production Schedule, HW deliverables; etc.)
- Coordinate accurate and executable resource plans, work plans and associated Visibility Metrics aligned with the Integrated Master Schedules
- Develop program operations status and metrics on a regular basis and present to management and the customer, as applicable
- Provide the necessary leadership to transition new program products from development through manufacturing and delivery
- Ensure engineering structure (drawings and build documentation) are developed for manufacturability, efficiency, affordability and configured for incorporation into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Material Resource Planning (MRP)
- Provide a manufacturing presence with program change boards to ensure design changes have been properly vetted with operations/manufacturing schedules, operational build/test/delivery impacts, and feasibility to execute the changes
- Oversee development, updates & improvements of build documentation
- Maintain open communications with all Enterprise functions (e.g. Engineering, Mission Assurance/Quality, GSC, Logistics, Facilities, etc.)
- Development and execution of long-range plans and strategies
- The candidate will need to demonstrate exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, have the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with varying levels employees and leadership
- Establish the mentorship and coaching culture including growing and strengthening the leadership bench

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM from an accredited university with 6 years of program management, business management or related engineering experience. Master’s Degree with 4 years of experience.
- 1 year of technical or functional environment leadership experience
- 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
- Knowledge and experience with Production Planning functions
- Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain an interim Secret Security level clearance pre-start, with the ability to obtain a final Secret Security level clearance post-start
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; problem solver; possess a strong work ethic; and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated leadership or management experience leading manufacturing or production operations activities, operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates
- Familiarity with Northrop Grumman project execution, processes and procedures.
- Aerospace / ICBM Industry Experience
- Experience working with ERP Systems such as: SAP & MES
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
- Experience standing up tools / processes / production schedules / metrics
- Current active DoD Secret Security Clearance with investigation date/periodic review within last 5 years and ability to obtain program special access
