Northridge Vets (formerly Porter Pet Hospital) is a well-established, privately owned small-animal practice that has proudly served the Northridge community for over 30 years. Our long-standing reputation is built on compassionate, personalized care, strong client relationships, and a supportive, collaborative team culture.
The hospital was closed and completely remodeled from head-to-toe in 2025 and is now looking for up to two Associate Veterinarians to join our amazing team. For the right candidates with strong credentials and work history, there are additional management positions available, making this a fantastic step for veterinarians interested in a long-term home and leadership positions .
Position Overview
As an Associate Veterinarian at Northridge Vets, you will:
- Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care to dogs and cats
- Collaborate with an experienced support team (including specialists) dedicated to excellent patient care
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through clear communication and education
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Help us continue our legacy of trusted care in the Northridge community
We are open to both experienced veterinarians and those earlier in their careers who are eager to learn, grow, and become part of a long-standing neighborhood practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical exams, diagnose and treat medical conditions in companion animals
- Develop and discuss treatment plans with pet owners
- Perform routine and complex surgeries (spays/neuters, soft tissue, etc.) as applicable
- Interpret lab work, radiographs, and other diagnostics
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Work collaboratively with technicians and support staff
- Participate in occasional client education events or community outreach as needed
Qualifications
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Current (or ability to obtain) California veterinary license
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills
- Commitment to high standards of patient care and client service
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented, supportive environment
- Prior experience in small-animal practice preferred; newer grads with solid clinical skills and strong references are also encouraged to apply
