Job Summary

Provides evidence-based prevention education, presentations, and outreach activities focused on alcohol, substance use, and problem gambling for youth and adults. Delivers prevention programming in schools and community settings, updates educational materials and presentations as needed, provides information regarding intervention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction services, and participates in community awareness initiatives that promote healthy choices and strengthen individuals, families, and communities.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based prevention education and presentations on substance use and problem gambling to youth and adults in schools and community settings.
• Develop and maintain engaging educational presentations, prevention materials, and outreach resources.
• Participate in community events, health fairs, and outreach activities to promote prevention awareness and healthy lifestyles.
• Provide information, referrals, and resources related to prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction services.
• Collect program data, prepare required reports, and assist with meeting grant and program objectives.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, community organizations, and partner agencies while representing Northpointe Council in the community.

Skills

• Strong public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to engage youth, adults, and community groups.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with schools, community organizations, and partner agencies.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to collect program data, prepare reports, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of substance use prevention, problem gambling prevention, public health education, or community outreach is preferred.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Education and/or Experience:

• Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Guidance/School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field, with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in teaching, guidance, or facilitating small groups in an academic, community, or clinical setting.

OR

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Guidance/School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field, with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in teaching, guidance, or facilitating small groups in an academic, community, or clinical setting.

Pay: $22.03 - $26.54 per hour
