Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will supervise and mentor accounting staff, oversee general ledger activities, and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, and supporting audits. The manager will collaborate with other departments on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, while also identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise accounting staff.
- Oversee general ledger activities, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Manage financial close processes and ensure accurate reporting.
- Review financial data to identify trends and variances.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on planning and forecasting.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and SOX standards.
- Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits.
- Implement new procedures to improve workflow efficiency.
- Stay current with evolving accounting regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification required.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 years in management.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite preferred; MS Business Central a plus).
- Public accounting experience is beneficial.
