Job Title: Recovery Technician (PRN)Reports To: Recovery Technician SupervisorLocation: Northpoint Washington (Adult inpatient in Edmonds, WA)Schedule: As needed; Available shifts are: Days: 6am-6:30pm Swing: 12pm-8:30pm Nights: 6pm-6:30amCompensation: $22-24.50/hour Shift Differential Northpoint Recovery Holdings, LLC began 2009 as Ashwood Outpatient and officially launched the Northpoint platform in 2015. Now celebrating 10 years of growth in 2025, Northpoint is a leading behavioral healthcare provider offering evidence-based treatment for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders through the Northpoint Recovery brand, and mental health treatment for adolescents through Imagine by Northpoint. Operating under an in-network, commercial insurance model, Northpoint has grown exclusively through de novo expansion—from two facilities to seventeen across the Western U.S.—with more planned in both existing and new markets. POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Northpoint team, the Recovery Technician is responsible for attending to the safety and wellbeing of patients, and working with a multidisciplinary treatment team in accordance with policy and procedure, to provide the best possible patient care. This position plays an important role in the implementation of programming and care plans by providing direct and indirect patient care that complies with Northpoint policies and procedures for unlicensed staff. This position will actively support the structure of the milieu through appropriate resource allocation and supervision of patients. The Recovery Technician works in a variety of settings throughout the week, including onsite at the facility and other community activities.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to clinical staffFollow reporting and communication guidelines when interacting with staff and patientsTimely completion and accuracy of paperwork, including daily logs and formsMaintains daily schedules and structure, specifically around transport times, meal times, transition times, and others outside of normal programming hoursFunction as a member of the treatment team and provide patient observation rounds, and consistent monitoring of patient's activities and behaviors during scheduled shiftAttend and actively promote recreational outings and activities with patients; encourage pro-social and coping skillsEnsure the wellbeing of patients and provide a positive, supportive, and structured environment; proactively respond to patient needs to improve outcomes and the overall patient experienceEnsure facility cleanliness and upkeep under direction of leadershipAssist patients with their needs and collaborate with onsite clinical and medical staff as necessaryFacilitate and assist with selected activity and education group sessions; document timely and accurately according to established policies and proceduresOversee and manage the safe and efficient transport of patients to and from our facilitiesAssist in orientation of new admissionsUtilize therapeutic communication skills and maintain professional boundaries with patients and their familiesBe a role model for patients and create a positive culture with staff by emulating professional attitude, language, and communicationAssist with treatment planning and discharge planningDocument information regarding client care and behavior as required in established policies and proceduresUtilize de-escalation skills when exposed to volatile clients in an effort to maintain personal safety while also ensuring safety for the clients, and other individuals in the programAssist counseling and administrative staff in responding to emergency situationsMaintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of careAdhere to all Company policies and proceduresPerform other job-related duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age1 year of relevant work experienceKnowledge and skills in English usage, interpersonal relationships and excellent communication skillsMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the departmentDemonstrated ability to hold strong personal boundaries and ability to build rapport with patientsKnowledge of surrounding geographic area to ensure effective and efficient routingAbility to organize and prioritize competing priorities and work time to balance demandsMust perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitationPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: De-escalation techniquesExcellent organizational abilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyClient service oriented (both internal and external)Creative and persistent problem solverAble to handle confidential material in a reliable mannerAbility to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of organizationStrong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and confidential informationAbility to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with PC and Microsoft Office SuitePRN BENEFITS INCLUDE:Sick LeaveEmployee Referral Bonuses401K Retirement Plan & Employer MatchCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Completion of a tuberculin screening Completion of a pre-employment drug screening, post-accident, and upon reasonable suspicion of useCompletion of new employee orientation and required paperwork prior to reporting to work, including acknowledgment of all Company policiesDemonstrated computer literacyCompletion of CPR/First Aid Training within first 90 days of employmentAttendance at all mandatory staff development and trainingCompletion of background and professional reference checksCompletion of a Motor Vehicle Record checkThis job description is not intended, and should not be construed, to be exhaustive lists of all responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with this job.
