Job Title: Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider - Adult & Adolescent Services Reports To: Lead Advanced Practice ProviderLocation: Northpoint Westminster (Adult outpatient) & Imagine Westminster (Adolescent outpatient) - Facilities are adjoining. POSITION SUMMARY: As a key member of the Northpoint team, the Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider will provide consultation, and medical and administrative direction to subordinate medical and support staff in various treatment settings (inpatient and outpatient). This person will provide direct patient care including diagnostic assessment, preventative and educational services, and medication evaluation and management to the patient population, in accordance with best care practices, industry standards, organizational guidelines, and state and federal laws. The Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide the best possible care. This position requires extensive internal and external communication with all levels of staff, leadership, physicians, vendors, and other professional colleagues. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Provide advanced medical and psychiatric services consistent with the ethical guidelines of the profession and the policies and procedures of NorthpointConduct health assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and medical exams of patients with known or foreseen health problemsMedication evaluation and initiation and short-term management of prescribed medicationsOrder and interpret lab tests for patients prior to and/or during prescription managementConsultation to physicians and providers regarding any ongoing medical care, maintenance and disease preventionCase management, engage in education processInteract routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to multidisciplinary team as necessaryDocument information regarding patient care and behavior as required in policies and proceduresParticipate in patient treatment planning and implementation under the direction of the Medical DirectorUtilize de-escalation skills when exposed to volatile patients to maintain personal safety for the patient and other individuals in our careConsult with the multidisciplinary treatment team in the development of treatment plans and discharge planning to strive for excellent patient careComply with all laws, regulations, and scope of licensureMonitor patients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate medical treatment and interventionsDocument medical assessment, diagnosis, progress notes, roundings, and other treatment planning items in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality patient careMaintain professional boundaries with patients at all timesOversee and participate in the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facilityProvide medical updates to utilization review and representatives of managed care to best coordinate reimbursement of treatment servicesAdhere to all company policies and proceduresMaintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of careOther medically appropriate services and special projects as assignedQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:Master's Degree in Nursing with specialty from an accredited programCurrent, unencumbered, active license to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state where services are rendered, with prescriptive privileges, at hire and for the entire duration of employment. Acceptable licensure includes: Physician Assistant (PA-C CAQ)Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration CertificateValid National Provider Identification (NPI) numberCurrent and nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certificationKnowledge of computer and electronic medical records systemsEnthusiasm, passion for working with people, and an internal drive to improve the lives of individuals in our careMinimum of two (2) years of experience required; preferably with one (1) year inpatient residential experienceMust maintain applicable state licensure requirements throughout duration of employmentAbility to work with a diverse population along with interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating patients in area of assigned specialtyDemonstrated ability to hold strong personal boundaries and ability to build rapport with patientsMust understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:Excellent organizational abilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyPatient service oriented (both internal and external)Creative and persistent problem solverAble to handle confidential material in a reliable mannerAbility to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of organizationStrong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and confidential informationAbility to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office SuitePART-TIME BENEFITS INCLUDE:Sick LeaveEmployee Referral Bonuses401K Retirement Plan & Employer MatchThis job description is not intended, and should not be construed, to be exhaustive lists of all responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with this job.
