Associate License Counselor (ALC)

Position Overview

Must have graduated with a Master's of Arts In Counseling and hold an Associate License Counselor Certificate in Alabama (ALC). No social workers will be considered for this position.

This is a position with flexible scheduling and the option to work from home when providing telehealth services while noting that telehealth services are not preferred form of counseling for children. The counselor will primarily work with children and adolescents, with opportunities to see adults as needed.

The ideal candidate has experience or strong interest in working with:

• ADHD
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
• PTSD and trauma‑related concerns
• Anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and behavioral challenges
• Gender Dysphoria

Core Responsibilities

Typical duties for this role include:

• Providing individual counseling to children, teens, and families using evidence‑based, developmentally appropriate interventions
• Conducting intake assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing progress evaluations
• Delivering trauma‑informed care and supporting clients with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges
• Maintaining accurate, timely, and HIPAA‑compliant clinical documentation
• Collaborating with guardians, schools, DHR, and other community partners when appropriate
• Offering crisis intervention and safety planning when needed
• Participating in supervision with an LPC‑S and engaging in ongoing professional development
• Supporting clients with skills related to emotional regulation, coping strategies, social skills, and behavioral management
• Providing telehealth services when clinically appropriate
• Upholding the mission and values of a nonprofit serving low‑income families

Pay: $38,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
