Position Summary: Prepare written credit narratives for large dealer relationships based on information obtained by various parties in the course of a multidisciplinary review. Audiences will include credit committees and individual reviewers.
Northpoint has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Commercial Credit Underwriter/Analyst to join our Underwriting team in Alpharetta, GA. The ideal candidate would be capable of effectively applying our underwriting guidelines to review inventory finance transactions to identify those that comply with our stated risk appetite. These guidelines encompass collateral and credit risk assessment and customary KYC due diligence procedures. The candidate must have effective written and oral communication skills, including having the ability to write concise and impactful reviews centered around the cash cycle of a dealership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (This list is not exhaustive.)
- Perform cash flow analysis for companies with large investments in inventory using Moody's-produced spreadsheets.
- Structure complex transactions and negotiate complex credit documentation to mitigate risk appropriately.
- Draw connections between behavioral scores and indicators unique to Northpoint that together gauge a dealer's financial condition.
- Effectively manage the flow of credit files by communicating regularly with internal and external clients.
- Utilize common sense and a sound understanding of accounting principles to lessen the risks of relying on internally prepared financial statements that lack independent testing. Analysts with ABL backgrounds are well-suited for this type of work.
- Complete special reviews associated with permanent increases, temporary increases, overlines, product additions, financial triggers, and high-risk account monitoring.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to executives, committees and loan participants.
- Other projects, assignments, or functions in support of portfolio risk management as needed.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
- 5 years of commercial lending or underwriting/financial analysis experience or equivalent experience.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and work as needed to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience with internal and/or external auditors.
- Experience with development and/or maintenance of tracking tools including process workflow or compliance with internally set guidelines.
Education/Experience:
Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to draft customer facing emails and correspondence on a regular basis. Ability to communicate effectively via phone with a variety of, sales, underwriter, manufacturer/dealer contacts.
