Technical Writer (Entry Level / Contractor)
Role Summary
We are looking for a Technical Writer to partner with engineers, technical architects, and product managers to create clear, accurate, and customer-focused documentation that helps customers and internal teams understand and effectively use our products.
In this role, you will collaborate with subject matter experts across product and engineering to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation, including user guides, FAQs, release notes, and knowledge base articles. Your work will help ensure customers can quickly understand product capabilities and successfully adopt new features.
You will also leverage modern generative AI tools such to support documentation development, improve clarity, and maintain consistency across our documentation.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, is curious about technology, and is motivated to help customers succeed through high-quality technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers, technical architects, and product managers to understand product features, system behavior, and technical workflows
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and validate technical accuracy
- Create and maintain customer-focused documentation including user guides, FAQs, knowledge base articles, and release notes
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and well-structured documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
- Support documentation for new product releases and feature updates to help customers quickly understand product capabilities
- Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with documentation standards and style guidelines
- Organize and improve existing documentation to make content easy to discover, navigate, and maintain
- Maintain documentation using platforms such as Confluence
- Use generative AI tools such to assist with drafting, summarizing, and refining documentation
- Continuously improve documentation workflows using modern tools and processes
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technical Communication, or a related technical field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts in clear and simple language
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand technical concepts by working closely with engineers and subject matter experts
- Curiosity about technology and willingness to learn new tools and systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and product managers
- Comfortable using generative AI tools to support writing, research, and documentation workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with documentation platforms such as Confluence or similar content management systems
- Exposure to generative AI tools such as Claude, or similar assistants
- Basic understanding of software products, APIs, or web applications
- Familiarity with Markdown or other markup formats used for technical documentation
- Internship, academic project, or coursework involving technical documentation or structured writing
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in technical writing or related roles
- Recent graduates and early-career candidates are encouraged to apply
