Assistant Accountant

Description

Northland Controls is looking for an Accounts Assistant in Chennai, India to support the company through our shared services.

Objective

The objective of the Accounts Assistant role is to ensure all invoices (Accounts Payable) are accurately posted to the system in an effective and efficient manner and to support the Accounts Payable automation project.

Main Duties

• Ensuring all authorized supplier invoices and credit notes are coded appropriately and entered on to purchase ledger daily.
• Reconciling supplier statements as received, notifying any discrepancies to suppliers on a timely basis.
• Assisting with the Accounts Payable automation project.
• Assist with Month end closing tasks like accruals preparations.
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and discrepancies.
• Assist with an internal auditor by providing documentation.

Other Duties

• Ensure the culture and core values of the company are developed, promoted, and always maintained throughout the company.
• Ensure effective communication between internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain metrics to enable continuous improvements and efficiency gains.
• Attending meetings, representing the company in a professional manner.
• Take part and sometimes lead initiatives that will enhance company performance.
• Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Salary : $300,000 - $500,000
