Position: IOP Therapist
Status: Full Time, Non Exempt
Schedule: Day Shift, 8-Hours

Position Summary:
The IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical and psychotherapeutic services to adult outpatient clients and their families. As a key member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the therapist provides direct care, develops individualized treatment plans, monitors patient progress, and ensures therapeutic interventions align with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves active collaboration with internal departments, referral sources, and external agencies to support patient safety, satisfaction, and successful outcomes. The IOP Therapist upholds a positive therapeutic environment while adhering to ethical, legal, and professional standards.
Essential Functions:
Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team supporting the organization’s treatment program and philosophy and assure the deliverance of quality treatment to patients and their families.
Oversees all aspects of clinical care and treatment delivered to patients assigned to his/her caseload.
Works collaboratively with other departments within the facility to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and to develop clinically sound, therapeutic interventions and treatment goals for patients as clinically indicated.
Conducts ongoing assessments and monitors progress of patients assigned to their caseload
Assists in the development of clinical programs and therapeutic interventions for patient; complies with all regulatory and facility policies, procedures and protocols, monitors patient safety and patient treatment.
Fosters a positive, therapeutic milieu for patients and demonstrates respect for co-workers, patients, family members and outside agency representatives.
Monitors customer satisfaction with clinical services and serves as liaison with agency or referral sources to resolve problems or issues; follows all HR policies/procedures.
Reports all serious occurrences and incidents and keeps agencies, internal managers, family members informed of issues/problems involving their patients.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent master’s degree in a recognized mental health field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of clinical work experience or psychiatric settings
Licensure/Certification: Professional clinical license issued by the appropriate licensing body in Louisiana (LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, LPC); specialty certification is preferred; American Heart Association BLS (AHA BLS) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification. Successful candidates who do not have current AHA BLS or CPI certification will be required to attend company-provided classes during the week of orientation.
Other: Written and oral communication skills; skills in case management, time management, and crisis intervention. Knowledge of developmental psychology of youth and adults; needs of youth and adults; Skills in maintaining information as highly confidential; must demonstrate the ability to treat other age populations as needed or have the capacity to develop skills through cross-training and orientation. Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation. Ability to complete required documentation in a timely, accurate manner that is clinically appropriate and within expected timeframes.

HIPAA: Has access to and adds information to the Medical Record. May only access medical record of assigned patients.
Work Demands/Environment:
Ability to stoop, lift, finger – for example pick, pinch, or type and grasp, ability to clearly and concisely express and exchange ideas via spoken word conveying detailed information to others accurately and on occasion quickly. Ability to perceive the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz and 2000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound. Exerting up to 10 to 1 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to inspect and analyze figures, accounting items, written materials, newsprint, computer terminal characters, transcription and other similar objects at distances generally close to the eyes. This is a minimum standard based on the criteria of accuracy and neatness of work. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Although inside work is the rule, it is required that the individual be able to travel.
