Position: Maintenance Technician - Roofing Specialist
Status: Full Time, Hourly
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician – Roofing Specialist inspects, maintains, and repairs roofing systems while supporting general facility maintenance. This role ensures the safety and integrity of building structures through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and adherence to safety standards. The technician works independently and collaboratively with the team to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, maintain, and repair roofing systems, including flat and membrane roofs.
Identify and repair leaks, flashing, drainage, and insulation issues.
Perform preventive maintenance: sealing, patching, and debris removal.
Assist with minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
Follow all safety policies, use PPE, and report hazards promptly.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and materials.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and support audits or safety drills.
Work independently or as part of a team, efficiently managing time and tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred; technical education helpful.
Previous roofing experience required, general maintenance experience preferred but not required.
Strong communication skills, ability to prioritize, and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Certifications (not required):
OSHA 10 or 30 and/or relevant construction or trade certifications/licensure helpful, but not required.
Work Environment:
Work indoors and outdoors, exposed to temperature extremes.
Must climb ladders, lift, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks.
