NorthKey Community Care is seeking an Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) Therapist. The Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) Therapist serves as a clinical member of NorthKey Community Care's AOT Program, providing community-based behavioral health assessment, treatment, care coordination, outreach, and therapeutic services to individuals participating in Assisted Outpatient Treatment under Kentucky's Tim's Law. The AOT Therapist works closely with clients, treatment providers, family members, courts, hospitals, and community partners to support treatment adherence, psychiatric stability, recovery, and successful community living. WO RK LOCATION: Varied as Assigned (NK Office, Community-Based Services, Client Residences, and Other Community Locations). Work Hours: Generally, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. INDEPENDENT LICENSURE IN KY IS REQUIRED.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree or above in a clinical field of study related to behavioral health from an accredited institution.  Licensed independently or willingness to obtain independent licensure while under supervision, 
  • Relevant education, training, experience, knowledge, and expertise to meet the needs of clients through individual, family, and group therapy, including but not limited to addressing trauma and promoting recovery of children with serious emotional disturbance and/or adults with serious mental illness.
  • Knowledge of Housing First principles, trauma-informed care, homeless services systems, and housing resources preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the service area required.

JOB DUTIES
  • Ability to provide services in community and non-traditional treatment settings.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders preferred.
  • Experience providing community-based behavioral health services, outreach, case management, or care coordination preferred.
  • Provide treatment and monitoring services for individuals participating in Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) under Tim's Law.
  • Monitor compliance with court-ordered treatment plans and document client participation in required services.
  • Conduct outreach and engagement efforts to maintain participation in treatment and reduce barriers to care.
  • Coordinate services among behavioral health providers, primary care providers, hospitals, community agencies, and other treatment partners.
  • Collaborate with family members, natural supports, and caregivers when appropriate and authorized.
  • Communicate with court personnel, attorneys, hospitals, law enforcement, case managers, and other stakeholders regarding treatment progress, compliance, and service needs.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and multidisciplinary staffing related to AOT participants.
  •  Assist clients in accessing psychiatric services, healthcare, housing resources, benefits, employment supports, transportation, and other community resources.
  • Participate in crisis intervention, stabilization efforts, and safety planning as needed.
  • Assist in supporting successful community tenure and reducing hospitalization, incarceration, and homelessness.
  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations.
  • Perform assessments of new clients promptly and complete updated assessments at least annually or upon significant changes in condition.
  • Diagnose individuals using the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Provide therapy, counseling, intervention, education, rehabilitation, and skill-building services as identified in the client's treatment plan.
  • Develop treatment plans based upon client-identified goals, diagnoses, symptoms, strengths, and areas of need. Utilize evidence-based practices and trauma-informed approaches to address client needs.
  • Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on assessments and treatment plans.
  • Address trauma and promote recovery among individuals experiencing serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
  • Provide psychoeducation and support to clients, family members, caregivers, and natural supports.
  • Assist clients with symptom management, relapse prevention, and recovery planning.
  • Maintain therapeutic relationships that support client engagement and sustained treatment participation.
  • Implement and maintain the Behavioral Healthcare Program's philosophy, principles, and procedures in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Provide services and conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the NorthKey Community Care Code of Conduct.
  • Participate in supervision, case consultation, multidisciplinary staffing, and team meetings.
  • Keep leadership informed of significant client, court, safety, or program-related concerns.
  •  Participate in staff development opportunities and continuing education necessary to maintain licensure and professional competence, including possible travel to development opportunities.
  •  Remain knowledgeable regarding Tim's Law, AOT regulations, and best practices in community-based behavioral health treatment.
  • Adhere to all NorthKey Community Care policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters about client information.
  •  Maximize efficiency and effective use of time while maintaining accurate and punctual time reporting.
  • Attend internal meetings related to responsibilities and duties.
  • Maintain a professional and business-like manner when interacting with clients, staff, courts, attorneys, hospitals, governmental agencies, contractors, referral partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Represent NorthKey Community Care professionally and appropriately.
