Position Summary:
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for supporting field crews in the successful delivery of safe, high-quality, and profitable projects by coordinating all field team information. This role oversees all phases of construction, including planning, execution, coordination, financial management, and closeout. The Project Manager works closely with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure timelines, budgets, and standards are consistently met.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership & Planning
- Lead the coordination and execution of all phases of construction, renovation, and improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules (including look-aheads and updates), budgets, and labor productivity plans.
- Facilitate pre-job planning, pre-construction meetings, and lessons learned reviews.
- Produce and update overall project schedules monthly.
Field & Operations Coordination
- Support field crews in delivering safe, high-quality, and profitable projects.
- Coordinate delivery of tools, materials, shop drawings, and project information to the field.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure construction meets standards and local code compliance.
- Facilitate open, inclusive, and transparent communication throughout all phases of the project.
- Attend and participate in all external meetings related to the project as needed, i.e., owner and Client, Construction Manager, Vendors, Subcontractors, and Municipal
Project Controls & Documentation
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to contract documents, safety policies, and specifications.
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and close-out procedures.
- Prepare and submit monthly evaluations and status reports.
Financial Management
- Maintain project financials, including billings, cost tracking (ACW), accounts receivable follow-up, and change order pricing and negotiation.
- Review and understand all project contracts and assist subcontractors with alignment to contractual obligations.
Collaboration & Support
- Participate in estimating-to-execution transitions, including internal handoffs.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to support shared goals and company-wide initiatives.
- Maintain strong internal and external customer relationships throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience managing complex construction or renovation projects.
- Strong leadership, field coordination, and team collaboration skills.
- Solid understanding of building codes, construction practices, safety regulations, and procurement processes.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Procore, e-Builder, MS Project).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills.
- PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent site visits to active construction zones; ability to navigate uneven terrain.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours for project deadlines.
- Hybrid work schedule between office and field meetings.
