The Opportunity
This position is designed for underwriters who want to operate at a high level and be part of a company that is actively building, evolving, and scaling.
You will play a critical role in deal execution, working closely with origination and processing teams to ensure loans are structured, approved, and closed efficiently—without unnecessary friction.
This is not a back-office position. This is a key seat at the table.
Key Responsibilities
• Underwrite residential mortgage loan files including Conventional, FHA, VA, and Non-QM products
• Analyze income, assets, credit, and collateral in accordance with agency and investor guidelines
• Issue approvals, conditions, and clear-to-close decisions with confidence and accuracy
• Collaborate directly with loan officers and processors to structure strong, approvable files
• Identify potential issues early and provide proactive solutions to keep deals moving
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, investor, and company standards
• Maintain speed, accuracy, and consistency in a high-volume environment
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of mortgage underwriting experience
• Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA guidelines
• Experience in a broker or correspondent lending environment strongly preferred
• Proven ability to handle complex income scenarios (self-employed, layered income, etc.)
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong credit decisioning ability
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
