Meal Service and Delivery - FULL TIME

Purpose of this position

Deliver two meals to the Assisted Living facility in Gering timely and prepare, plate and serve meals to the residents at the AL. Provide accurate, timely food service to meet residents’ needs and to maintain dietary equipment in a safe, sanitary manner.  

Qualifications

1. Cannot have been convicted of any crime related to any services to be provided under this job description, including, but not limited to moral turpitude, assault or violence.
2. Must be able to speak and understand the English language or a language understood by a substantial portion of the facility’s residents.
3. Physical ability to perform job-related duties, which may require lifting up to 50lbs, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing and pulling.
4. Possess personal qualities making it possible to maintain good interpersonal relationships. Ex: respect for each person as an individual, kindness, and loyalty.
5. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Must be able to work at any Northfield Retirement Communities Long Term Care, or Assisted Living facility as assigned.

Responsibilities

1. Set up trays and food service carts accurately and timely.
2. Ability to set tables and to pour beverages.
3. Assists with distribution of meal trays.
4. Ability to set up carts for serving, and then serving the meal in a timely and pleasant, professional manner, maintain the utmost in dignity and grace so as to provide as pleasant a dining experience as possible. 
5. Maintain cleanliness of dining room, coffee bar, and kitchen area, following sanitation procedures.
6. Assist in the proper care, use and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
7. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge for safe use of kitchen equipment.
8. Follow menus and prepare food and beverages.
9. Store food in compliance with dietary procedures.
10. Details interior areas on a regular basis using general cleaning tools and equipment (i.e. broom, mop, vacuum, etc)
11. Ensures a safe, clean environment for residents and co-workers.  Initiate corrective action.
12. Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
13. Accept and complete assignments timely, cooperatively and accurately.
14. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, and staff.
15. Come to work in a neat, clean uniform with nametag and gait belt and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
16. Come to work as scheduled and demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
