Job Summary
The Grounds seasonal employee must be able to perform grounds maintenance & landscaping tasks for Sheridan College. Report to grounds supervisor with support from full time grounds personnel.
Reports To
Zack Houck, Grounds Supervisor
Education/Qualifications
- Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
- Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
- Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of grounds care, chemical usage, and grounds equipment operation and maintenance
- Understanding of pesticides, herbicides, horticulture, tree care, mulching, fencing
- Operation of equipment, string trimmers, chain saw, hedge shears, blowers and lawn mowing equipment, snow blower, hand tools, etc.
- Communication skills required
- Computer skills
- Ability to organize work tasks and work independently
- Establish a safe working environment
- Ability to relate to others in a safe and positive manner
- Wear proper attire for safety and appearance
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- All Weather Conditions
- Outdoor work with exposure to all elements-heat, rain, snow, ice, dust, mud, etc.
- Ability to lift 50lbs
