Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and energetic Event Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of events. In this role, you will be the driving force behind creating memorable experiences that align with our brand vision and community and client expectations.
Responsibilities
Event Manager for Non-Association/Private Events
- Responsible for preparing event contracts with Executive Director approval and communicating closely with the Facilities Manager to define event needs and the Finance Department for billing process of events
- Provide walkthroughs of the buildings and grounds with event prospects, before and after contracted events
- Work with event coordinators to monitor scheduled events, assist with needs and troubleshoot problems
- Manage event and client evaluation for settlement and invoicing
- Collaborate with event marketing leads, uncovering mutual opportunities of marketing and promotion for a successful event
- Build relations with the area’s Tourism Department leader serving as an area event representative to recruit and promote new events
Event Manager for Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association Events
- Work with the Executive Director related to the budget for entertainment opportunities for the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association hosted events. Generate entertainment contracts, schedules at events, and credentials for entertainment.
- Manage Vendors at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association hosted events
- Serve as the main point of contact for existing and new vendors. Communicating to vendors the process and documenting all paperwork is completed. Contacting vendors for applications, licenses, answering questions related to registration, payment, and questions from existing and new vendors, and accepting applications and payment from vendors
- Collaborate with Facilities Manager and Executive Director related to vendor placement assignment
- Work closely with the Volunteer/Schedule Coordinator to recruit, hire and train interim employees filling operational roles including Gate Admissions, Parking, and Bartending
Requirements
Skills and experience preferred, include:
- A degree related to Business Relations, Project Management, or any other relevant education or comparable experience related to event management
