About Us
The City and County of Denver is seeking Environmental Associate to join our team. These positions will support and/or conduct public health and environmental inspections and investigations to ensure compliance or environmental stewardship in the Retail Food and Swimming Pool Program.
Ideal candidate will be bi-lingual in Spanish and English.
About Our Job
Assists in conducting and/or support on-site facility inspections and investigations within a retail food and swimming pool environment, and recommend corrective or enforcement or environmental stewardship action.
Monitor compliance with applicable rules and regulations and determines when reinvestigation is necessary to ensure ongoing compliance and/or environmental performance within the retail food and swimming pool environments.
Conduct complaint investigations and food borne illness investigations.
Collect field samples or other environmental related data or information for laboratory or trend analysis.
Learns to provide technical assistance, education and training about environmental stewardship and compliance to maintain public health and environmental health.
Evaluate and distribute information to the public, affected industries/businesses and other governmental agencies.
Prepare or review applications and verify information submitted for licenses and permits.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
About You
Baccalaureate Degree in Public Health, Biology, Nursing, Environmental Health, natural/physical science or a directly related field. Possession of a valid Colorado Class “R” Driver’s License at time of application
About Everything Else
Hiring range: $38,868-$42,492 per year
Salary grade: 616-A Work Shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 8am to 5pm
OR
Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm
OR
Sunday - Thursday, 8am to 5pm
Shifts scheduled as needed by the organization.
All positions require the use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement, proof of clean driving record, and proof of car insurance.
